Envision
Country:
United Kingdom
Description:
Envision takes a positive stance in response to the environmental problems of our times. Crucially, it aims to stimulate the desire and to demonstrate our potential to make a difference by enabling people to care for the environment because they want to, not because they feel they should have to.

Envision empowers people by providing opportunities for increasing their understanding of, and respect for, the natural world. This is achievable through raising awareness, hands-on action and personal development of theory and practice. The aim is to give back responsibility to individuals by demonstrating that they can ‘make a difference’, thereby inspiring people to make sustainable choices in the future The only path to truly sustainable society.

Currently, Envision is running a highly successful pilot project with secondary school sixth forms, in schools in North London. The "Young Envisionaries Award Scheme" (YEVA) is a unique opportunity for young people to design and carry out an environmental campaign within their school and local community. It also provides support and scholarships to visit areas of conserved wilderness in Britain and other parts of the World. Through YEVA we aim to instil in young individuals the lifelong knowledge of their potential to ‘make a difference’.
