Description: | Grupo de Reflexión Rural (GRR) coordinates the Network for Latin America Free of GMOs (Red por una Latino America Libre de Transgénicos - REDALLT), and is also involved as a member of the GMO Alert Network (Red de Alerta sobre Transgénicos - REDAST). They are especially concerned about the problem of genetically modified soya in Argentina and they are mobilised against the current global economic system, taking into account its recent record in terms of environmental degradation and the effects of the agrochemical business on local land and the small farmer. They recently made a presentation to the World Social Forum in Argentina and are currently involved in a Peoples Initiative Project against GMOs from Buenos Aires. This petition will be sent to local and national government in the coming weeks. |
