Forum of Enviromental Journalists of Bangladesh
Country:
Bangladesh
Description:
FEJB, a pioneer professional watchdog for conservation, was founded at the initiative of the then UNESCAP Executive Secretary in 1983 by a group of journalists dedicated to protecting environment through creating awareness among people about the need for halting the onslaughts of environmental degradation threatening to destroy country's ecological balance.

Over the years it has developed itself into a kind of think-tank and a research organisation carrying out a wide range of activities, which include holding of training programmes for journalists, seminars and workshops, investigative field trips, publishing books, reports, newsletters, documentary films and features within its mandate.

FEJB has played the historic role in the creation of Ministry of Environment and Forest (MOEF) and has been entrusted with the membership in almost all the environmental steering committees and technical committees since the creation of MOEF.
